A Series of rather Fortunate Events:

  • The New Zealand Angus Association (Inc) played host to the 2013 World Angus Forum.

A rather fortunate event, New Zealand was granted hosting rights to the last 2013 Angus Forum during the International Angus Secretariat that was held in Ireland. Jumping at the opportunity, the New Zealand Angus Association found it a chance to further improve the view of New Zealand to the Western world.

  • The Meat and Wool NZ Beef Expo 2010 and the Angus NZ Annual Sale Report 2009

The year was a busy one for Angus NZ. A great year for sales as all but one bull wasn’t sold to potential buyers from Australia and New Zealand. The Annual New Zealand Angus Association’s (NZAA) National sale also yielded a good year for breeders looking for the top Angus genetics. The champion of that year was Farfield TM Modest 773 AB ET, with Reserve Champion honors going to Turihaua C69.

  • The NZ Angus Ward Tour 2010

The 2010 Angus Ward Tour was a success, starting off with the Merial Welcome Dinner at Sunday, March 28, running up to April 1st, Thursday with a concluding trip to Whangarei, Auckland and Hamilton. It was a week of dinners as well as introductions to other companies as well.

  • The Steak of Origin, 2009

2009 wasn’t so much of a fruitful year for Angus. The winner that year was a Friesian X Piedmontese steak, although Jo Fouhy was in his form. He presented the ‘Manawatu Beef Dish of the Year’ and the ‘Best of Brand (wholesale and foodservice)’ in partnership with the Neat Meat Company and AngusPure.
